Nice job. Can't wait to see the progression. Watching the rookie race with peeps you know in it is awesome. I don't think I'll forget that feeling.

Nice. It takes courage to move from track days to racing. Good for you.
Nah, you know how to ride the thing. You've just got to learn how to ride it faster now.

Nice job Lauren! It sure is an addiction! Don't worry about progression, it will come quickly!
At 1:39 any tire is fine unless the cords are showing.
If you slid out of 10 I bet you had your full weight sitting on the seat, not hanging off the bike, leaned over and on the throttle.
Hang off the bike, weight the footpegs, and roll on the throttle smoothly but aggressively and you can drive over those bumps like a MF'er.
+1 that's my excuse too.

Congrats on the step into racing!
Put fresh tires on to reduce your worries about that and have peter bounce and click. Don't necessarily listen to anyone online about settings etc. That usually turns out to be BS. Every bike is a little different, especially older ones.
Are you sure its not your clutch that's slipping instead of the tires spinning? I just don't think that your bike has enough power to spin any tire at that pace, unless there is some serious rider error going on. Like leaning the bike in after the apex and at the same moment you are whacking the throttle open. That will get her spinning, but I'd assume people would have pointed out that you are on the verge of crashing if that were the case.
How would I tell if the clutch was slipping? I put a barely used set of clutch plates in before the season... It shifts fine. This issue I have started experiencing (completely seperate issue from my Turn 10 rear tire issue) has been when I am driving hard (but smooth throttle) out of corners, it happens every time out of Turn 3, and now every time out of turn 12. It feels like my rear wheel grips, spins, then grips, then spins, its a "cha -chunk, cha-chunk, cha-chunk" feeling where the bike almost feels like it is bucking. It happens at high rpms.... I was happening to me driving out of corners at Thunderbolt ( I talked to Pete about it, and he seemed to think I was right at the edge of traction, and suggested kicking up into a higher gear, which completely solved my problem at Thunderbolt). From what I've read, it seems like if a clutch is slipping, the rpms go up, with no discernible increase in speed (which is not what I am experiencing).
It starting happening at Loudon as I started increasing my speed, drive, and rpms out of these 2 particular corners.
And no, I'm not tipping in post apex and whacking the throttle open![]()
I'm so proud of you darling! Next year we'll grid together![]()
Congrats Lauren!!! It was a pleasure to speak with you Sunday morning, your enthusiasm for the weekend really reminded me of my first. The beginning parts of racing are some of the best and I look forward to seeing you out there enjoying every minute of your racing!

Based on this description here it sounds as if the transmission has some issues. If your bike is making any clunking noises when you have that situation it pushes me closer to thinking it's related to the transmission. If you or Greg wanna call me tonight I'll get into the details about why the taller gear seemed to "solve" the issue.
Well...it isn't making those noises, that's what it feels like. And its coming from the rear tire... It honest to goodness feels like my rear tire bites, spins, bites, spins, bites, spins.... and the bike lurches forward with every bite/spin it does it 3-4 times on the exit of T3 and T 12
Losing and regaining traction is a gradual occurrance. It won't alternate between spinning and biting that noticeably unless your inputs are severe enough to cause that...and if that were the case there would be other major issues going with the bike's characteristics.
If you wanna exchange bikes for a session during the next trackday I'd be okay with that. So far I'm 0-1 for people liking my bike. Looking to make it 0-2.
