Slip-ons for a 500?

I'm thinking I might get rid of my ugly, scratched up muffler and put slip-ons on the 500. What do you guys recommend that would look good and not cost me one arm and one leg? Thanks.

Re: Slip-ons for a 500?

Sorry, V.

Here, I think these slipons would look great on an EX500 (assuming the colors match) and they're only 39.99, you're not going to find them any cheaper than that!

Good looking slipons only 39.99

Ok, did I mistype something or what? What did I say/ask in my post that makes you guys want to be total jackasses?

I'm asking for suggestions on SLIP-ONS, isn't it what you call them?!! Instead of replacing the whole exhaust pipes, you just replace the muffler part, RIGHT? WTF.

Those guys KNOW what bike I have. I stated I ride an EX500....2005 black EX500. Doesnt' matter what year...ALL 500 look exactly the same, and all of them don't look that good. Except mine because it's black. (still doesn't look that good)

COBRA F1® SLIP-ON MUFFLERS from Tucker Rocky Motorcycle 2004

Had these on my EX250. For $220 you can't really go wrong. Not a whole lot of options for that bike.

Or just get some stock cans off ebay. Would you put straight pipes on your lawnmower? Ok then.

I don't know about that one...looks pretty much the same as what I have now...except with a Muzzy plate on it. I want something black, maybe? How much is carbon fiber slip-ons for an ex500? (any WORKING links?)

edit: Do they make black aluminium exhaust?

Re: Slip-ons for a 500?

That's a 2 into 1 exhaust system. Nothing like the 2 into 2 that is on your bike. It's the only good option for an EX500. It looks and sounds great compared to stock, and a re-jet and airbox mod will actually gain you some nice responsiveness. Go for the Muzzy system.

P.S. There's nothing in carbon for the lowly EX

Laugh all you want. I don't care about the "material" the new pipes are made off. Carbon fiber is BLACK (or dark grey), that's why I'm asking. And I know it's more expensive. It could be black aluminium, that would do too. I'm not one of those who want to put bling just for the bling, I just want to improve the appearance of the bike a bit, is all. My present pipes are all scratched up from when I bought it, and they are getting worst, getting rusted. They need to be changed.

Thanks for the useful info Paul. I didn't know if they made carbon for my bike, I really don't care either way, I just thought something darker would look nicer. If I have to stay with something plain like that Muzzy system, I'll just go for it...it will at least look better than rusted scratched pipes I have now...

I wish...but with the money I'm getting soon, I think the wise thing to do is put it on things more important like helping the husband make some repairs in the house. He also still need to buy more things to start up his 6 foot salt water reef tank so that's also where some of the money will go, he deserves it. I'll just try to change some broken/damaged parts on the ex500; pipes, mirrors and turn signals are just lightly scratched up, but it bothers me because I see them.

I was dreaming of changing my bike...maybe an FZ1 would have been so nice...or maybe a Ducati Monster. *sigh*
