Thanks Nikon for quoting this, I didn't see it before.
I actually agree... but for this to happen there's gotta be some details on who/why/how so that there's actually some PURPOSE to posting about it. Most of the time there's little to no details about the accident and if that's the case, what good is it to us?![]()

I agree but unfortunately this is a tough area to approach. More often than we'd all like to admit, accidents are avoidable. This means we're putting blame on a rider in a RIP thread which seems inappropriate. I feel the fallen rider probably would have wanted fellow riders to learn from his/her mistake, but perhaps the family, friends and even the original author of the thread doesn't want to see blame assigned. Somehow there needs to be a balance between curiosity/education for the living and respect for the victims.
ba ba ba ba bizzzzump!
Hey, look who got in a crash.....

I can't see youtube at work, but since it's a video on youtube, I can only assume that it must have been Kingcastaway.
Did he blog about it?
Is he leading a protest at City Hall on the banning of potholes in South Boston?
Has he contacted his disbarred lawyer? Oh wait....
Heads are gonna roll. Someone must pay. Surely it wasn't his own self doing. He's the victim!

YOU RUINED THE SURPRISE!!!

The sad thing is that he probably gets his way 90% of the time because he's such an epic fucking douche bag that people would rather pacify to shut him up than actually telling him what a douche he is.
And Richie, he has distinctively non-Caucasian fingers. (from the video, not experience)

Actually, Jackie, a few people here did tell him on a few occasions what a monumental douche he is and he freaked out every time.

I am for threads that I like.
I am against threads that I don't like.
I am against the idea of anyone suggesting that people start censoring the types of posts that they make based on arbitrary popularity contests.
I am aware that most people don't care about what I am for or against.

doesn't it ever keep you guys grounded?
sometimes the fun can let you forget the dangers
This is how those threads typically go:
I mean, really?I saw a crashed bike today. Was it anyone here?
I see crashed bikes nearly every day. Do you want to venture a guess as to how many of those hundreds of crashed bikes I've seen over the years that ended up belonging to members of this forum?
Zero and counting.
There was another thread floating around sometime when this thread was originally posted. If you can find it, there are more great points as to why crash threads are absolutely pointless when they are devoid of pertinent information.
There are about 66,000-or-so motorcycles registered just in NH and another 154,000+ in MA. That still leaves ME, CT, RI and VT at a minimum with regards to NESR members living in various states.
Do you really think that out of the 80 or so truly active members here and probably 400,000+ registered motorcycles in New England alone it is really worth asking if a crashed motorcycle was someone on this forum?

Easy there big boy....take it easy..
sooo, how would you know this if you don't ask?
Isn't ironic that we have spent more effort discussing this here than has been put into the threads actually about witnessed accidents.
If you don't like those threads, don't read them.
Stop attempting to impress your value system on other people for something so trivial. Save it for the important shit.
