what do ya'll run for summer riding apparel? I need to replace my hideous 90's jacket. i like leather... Its feels sturdy, but if theres good fiber jackets/pants please tell me to check them out. I also need a recommendation on a riding pant. Id really like something with knee pucks so when I have an opportunity I can get it down. Style is important to me so lemme know what looks good.![]()
I wear Firstgear Mesh, I like them. I would also check out Olympia, and if you're thin, Revit. Revit definitely has style points, but they're stuff is usless if you're on the chunky side.
No knee pucks on them though. Personally, if I'm gonna be riding aggressively enough to drag a knee, I don't want to be in anything but full leathers.
man thong and sandals ftw

leather, preferated
it does not get hot enogh her so leather is fine for me
Vanson fully perf'd leather jacket and Alpinestars track pants (perf'd) with the pucks left at home. The Vanson breathes like nothing else but still has enough armor to keep you whole.
Yeah I ran a perforated leather jacket all summer and was fine. It was white so I'd imagine that helped a bit with the sun too. It's an Icon Overlord jacket if you're curious.

Rev'it replica suit and when it's really hot a Rev'it ignition jacket
i wear a shift mesh jacket and mesh/textile pants most of the time during the summer, its probably not the most sturdy, but better than nothing for sure
while knee pucks for street riding may seem like overkill, i read somewhere that they actually provide extra knee protection in a crash.
on a side note. if im just riding around and its nice out. im in shorts and a t shirt. always a helmet and gloves though. i also have a perfd leather/mesh JR jacket that i wear when its really hot out. i have to wear pants at work now, so my rides to work generally involve pants. if i know that im going out for a day trip then i wear jeans/pants and a jacket (leather or mesh) if i know im going out to break several dozen laws then im in full track gear.
i really make the decision as im walking out the door. ALWAYS a helmet as i like my face/brain (even if it does make stupid decisions sometimes) and ALWAYS gloves because i learned a long time ago that the natural reaction when falling is to put your hands down first.

The Cortech Latigo perforated jacket is on clearance at several of the usual suspects.
Anyone have an opinion on that jacket?
I have a vanson mesh jacket for summer riding. It has all ce armor and I stay very cool when moving.
im liking the combo of the icon jacket with alpinestars track pants... could they zip together?
Jeans and mesh jacket + gloves 99% of regular riding or commuting!
If Im trying to get my license suspended or play the cat n mouse game full track gear including boots n back protector (speeds go too high), but that usually only takes place at night time so it's not that hot..
I was wearing gloves on regular riding til one of my friends went down last season and let's just say his hand will never look the same again and he was going only 30mph

Rev-it
Go to Seacoast and talk to Patricia.
I'm fat and the rev-it stuff fits me well.

I have a Joe Rocket textile that has some of the best vents of any jacket I've owned. I know it won't hold up as well in a crash as perforated leather would, but I couldn't find a perforated leather jacket that was cut with enough curve to fit my figure
In AZ, I ride in jeans, a tank top and steel toed boots, plus helmet and gloves in the summer, when its 110 out, the heat from the ground makes you feel like a rotisserie chicken. I tend to stay on the frontage road instead of the highway though.
Original
For the price of the icon jacket I was looking at. I got a dainese leather jacket that fits alot better for the same price.
I lost a whole bunch of weight, so this year it's going to be either Rev-It or Dainese for me.
after seeing the photos of bostonducs ankle i will now wear a suit of armor....everywhere
