    Wagner BMW

So I went there for the first time today with my buddy who was looking for a new bike.

He wants a 1000RR and a salesguy comes over and talks to him very briefly. My buddy said he was interested in maybe trading in a K1300 towards the 1000..The dude just turned his back and shrugged him off.

Is this normal for this particular dealership ?

My friend is very well off and could have paid cash for the bike right there if he wanted, but he preferred to try and get rid of his other bike first.

Sorry to say they lost a good sale, being as he got snubbed a few times at Dunbar(a place that he has bought 3 new bikes in the past 8 years) I recommended he try out Wagner.

    Seriously I don't know what's worse,motorcycle dealerships or gunshops.

WTF is up with dealers and salespeople nowadays..Is it because if you don't look rich they won't take you seriously ?

A couple of members here work for Wagner..I'm sure they will chime in...
Personally I've been offered test rides the couple of times i was there...I declined because I was not that serious in getting one...i am bad at compulsive buying.

    Re: Wagner BMW

That is certainly not normal behavior for anyone I have spoken with at Wagner. They are good people, know their stuff and the times I have been there they have always been very accomodating and friendly. My buddy purchased his Hyper there. He was 24 at the time, trading in a Yamaha WR250 towards it and they never once treated him any different than the older, wealthier buyers.

I'd say go back with your buddy, have a talk with the sales manager and see what happens. But this is the first I've heard of this type of attitude at Wagner.

Ya,I thought it was kind of strange as well..I was BS'ing with an older guy..I think he may have been a manager or something because he was in an office,he was cool...If he would have talked to my friend,Wagner would have sold a bike.I would like to go back, but I don't think my friend will ever step foot in there again..LOL

He was really put off about how the guy just turned his back on him, maybe he(the dealership) wasn't interested in a trade-in or something. He even alluded to going back to Dunbar to get the 1000RR,which I thought he would never do.

I guess my friend is not used to being treated like this due to that he buys everything with cash,so when something irks him,he is the type to spend more somewhere else rather than give the business to someone who he thought treated him not so kindly..

We might go up to Seacoast next weekend, only due to the positive reviews I read on here.

Wagner has been great to me. I usually deal with just the service side but a couple years ago I went in and they let me ride a GS before I got mine. They were great. Maybe he was busy and had something else going on.

I have talked to a couple great people at Wagners, and one cunt. The cunt was enough to keep me from going back.

I bought my s1000rr at Second Wind from Nic. They have been very good so far.

Seacoast is the best shop I have dealt with.

But, as I'm sure you know, they don't sell BMW...

And, even there, it they're busy they may not jump all over your pal. You might start by trying to decide what you want before you talk about what you trade...!

You're friend might also let whoever they meet at Seacoast know that he can tell whoever he talks to that Todd and Dave (BatMan) recommended Seacoast. Jim's a Principal and Sales Manager i believe....but Charles, Miles, Rob or Jason can all get him started!!!

IMO second wind is the way to go. I've had good exp in service an sales although I bought my bike as a leftover elsewhere. If I bought again it would be second wind.

If the guy's name was Rocco then yes. That is his deal. Others there are fine IMO. I also used to like working with Mark but he left. Second Wind & Nic are fantastic.

    Re: Wagner BMW

I got blown off by them last year buying a new bmw car. I dont look like i have money but i do and it always hurts me when i try to buy high dollar items. Once we started talking numbers he literally just passed me off for another customer that was buying a higher priced car. I ended up going to a dealer in ct for my car and paid cash for it. Never went back to wagner even though i work about 5 minutes from it. Id rather drive an hour to the dealer in ct who i know wants my money and will treat me right.

Rocco is the reason I won't go back there. Mark was great when I spoke with him, he then set me up with Rocco, who was a twat.

I had a really bizarre experience with the above-mentioned "salesman" at Wagners three years ago, have not been back since.

When I stopped in at Second Wind on my Triumph, everyone ignored me except for the BMW salesman who spent a lot of time with me to show me the whole line. I'd go there if I were interested in a BMW.

    No place is perfect.

I'd say Seacoast has been the most consistently excellent dealer to deal with.

    Re: Wagner BMW

I have been to plenty of dealerships where the staff is indifferent, rude or just plain ignorant of their own products.

Seacoast and Second Wind are the two best dealerships that I know of.
I bought my Tiger from Second Wind and it was a fantastic experience.
I have bought a few items from Seacoast (ie. gloves, etc) and have always been very happy with the service.
Both are always genuinely glad to see customers and take a few minutes to say hello.

I bought my last helmet from Second Wind. One of the few places I have gone (not knowing anyone) by myself and been treated not only with respect, but also as a real rider. They didn't so much as bat an eyelash when I said I would be wearing it for primarily street but also track use. I usually buy stuff online to save $$, but liked them so much I paid the markup.

Go to Aj's in Gill Ma a truly great dealership for BMW. Always ready to deal. A real oldtime customer is first dealership. They like trades I have never had a bad time there in decades of being a customer.
