Gene Berrio - 1:17.2 on a 20 year old bike.

Not only winning the Expert Ultralight Superbike class by 30 seconds but also setting the track record for a Honda Hawk in archived LRRS History (going back to 1999 on lrrsracing.com). Previous Hawk Track Record was 1:19.0 by Tom Barry.

1:17.2!!! That is flat out AMAZING on that bike.

Congrat Gene. My hat is off to you and it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Too bad you're in CA, you missed the part where he crashed in T3 and the red flag came out. Race started over completely with another 8 laps - Gino's on the grid and smokes everyone to the finish.

Oh yeah, and we had light rain most of the morning into the afternoon. That was basically the 2nd race that had a dry enough line for slicks.
