After searching I'm wondering if there is a way to have the thread viewing default open to the last page of multi page threads.

Click the little ble button under the thread title

the

button next to the thread title will bring you to the first new (unviewed by you) post.

the

button in the "last post" column that's next to the name of the last person to post in the thread will bring you to the last post.
