Thanks for the welcome. To answer your question, I'm a member on another board called Club 3g(dedicated to the 3rd gen eclipse). I mentioned that I was buying a bike in one of the off-topic discussions. A member on that board, CQString, directed me this way. I bought a YZF600R and should be getting it today. I can't wait. I'm a total newb when it comes to sport bikes but I have some experience with bikes.
CG is a fuckin' SQUID!!!
The YZF should be a great bike for you to get started with, and it'll last you AT LEAST a coupla seasons before you start getting bored with it. Feel free to ask questions to help get aclimated with sportriding...

Yeah, I did a lot of research abou this bike and 90% of people agreed that it is a good 1st bike. Good all around, very comfortable, good brakes, and has a very wide powerband starting low to mid revs. So this is pretty much what I was looking for. Oh yeah, did I mention that I can't wait to get on it?
P.S. I don't mean to sound like a complete dumbass, but what is the defination of a "SQUID"? I have heard this tearm before and I have an idea of what it means but need to be reassured.

Welcome A... I think we have definitions of a Squid around here somewhere. We're all basically squids... although we all vehemently deny it.
You should look forward to meeting some cool people this summer. Great guys/gals that like bikes and are cool to hang with. I'm not one of them and I still haven't met any yet, but they are here somewhere. Fookers!
