Hey all. Pointed over here from another forum.
I'm Christopher, live in Boston proper, ride an 06 r6.
I took my MSF at the end of april 07 and then bought an 06 r6 leftover, brand new. Been riding since then, have picked it up pretty quick.
I did my first track days (3 of em) with Tony's Track Days this year and probably met a bunch of you. I was in the red group all three days, was told to switch to yellow for next time. You'll remember me, I'm annoying and ask lots of questions.
I was at the august 28th, and the september 18th and 19th track days. I went down in turn 3 on the 18th. Here's me, maybe I met some of you guys, duno if you remember:
Turn 6:
Another turn 6 shot, coming up behind that guy on the hypermotard that crashed... poor duc...
I'm hoping to get back out there and do a lot of TDs next year, just need to save some money.... shit's expensive. I want to get a set of race plastics to swap over everytime I hit the track... stockies are too pretty and pricey for the track... I need new tires, too.
If anyone's looking to do some riding this weekend, I'm hoping to do a bunch cuz of the long weekend. I ride mostly alone on the street since all the riders are know are douchesquids. PM me if any of you guys want to go find some twisties and/or know of any good routes.

I remember you I think. Thanks for the welcome.
Yeah she's all good now...
- New headlight (tabs broke) and upper front fairings (couple tabs).
- Traded cans with a racer who didn't care, I just paid the shipping both ways (like 20 bucks total).
- My puig DB screen was shattered so I just threw the stockie back on. Just for kicks I painted the inside black with krylon fusion paint... looks killer.
- New slider puck, obviously.
- The only damage left is a little rash underneath the slider on the right lower. I'll get another one when I see a good deal.
- Once the street plastics are perfect again, I am going to sell off all of my busted parts and buy a set of race glass to use for track days.

or, salvage what ya can from the rashed plastics & just use those at the track. Finding rashed stock plastics on ebay is a far less expensive option than race glass, especially when you're trying to scrape money together to feed the addiction![]()

Hmm... however won't race glass hold up better in a crash and/or multiple crashes? i.e. be less likely to break tabs and such? You know better than I do though, I suppose. I was thinking race glass might be a better long term investment...
Haha whatever man, everyone crashes. I think it's great... and I got a sweet picture out of it, sparks and all. 20 minutes and 2 zip ties later I was back out there riding the shit out of her for another day and a half
Hell, here's a non-watermarked bigger shot:

This is the coolest welcome/intro post in a long time.

Good form in pic two for a new rider, welcome.
Thanks for the welcome, all.
Thank you. That was something that I was feeling pretty good about after a little bit. I found that envisioning putting my outside armpit on my gascap and splitting my asscheeks with the edge of the seat gave me nice hangoff and a parallel-to-the-bike body position. Is that a good way to think about it? Here's another shot of me, this is in turn 11 from the 18th I think...:
Not much lean angle in that shot... the lower speed turns I had to consciously think about keeping myself loose, where in the higher speed ones, it was more natural. This was especially true the next session or two after I went down in 3 (which is when this photo was taken), but that makes sense. I think I nicked my puck down on the 19th in that turn once, but I never felt too comfortable going fast through there in general. It will come with time and laps, I'm sure. Any tips on the whole 11 area and getting my speed up? I felt much more comfortable in 1, 1a, 2, 6, 7, 9... those were where I was dragging knee consistently mostly. Felt great![]()

I'm still shocked no one's mentioned the HJC on the track.
