Hey guys,
I just stumbled across this site. I'm in Georgia VT, so I thought I'd say hello.
I bought my first bike a couple of days ago. '01 GSXR 600. 9700 miles on it.
I'd never ridden a motorcycle before. Had a couple of friends that convinced me to give it a try. I'm used to very fast vehicles, but always on 4 wheels.
I took it out for a spin, all of about 3 miles, but it's not road legal yet so I'm waiting on that. It was pretty fun though. I'm extremely excited to get it legal and start putting some miles on it.
Here she is:
I bought it with salvage title. Only thing wrong with it is a lightly beat-up front end. I think I did alright on the price.
I've already bought a new fairing stay and windshield. I'm trying hard to find an upper fairing that matches my bike, and she'll look golden again. (Posted in WTB already)
This pic kind of shows damage:

Anywho, just saying hi.

Why yikes? And there's no hole. I don't know why the pic looks like that..
Huh, actually that pic was from the guy that I bought the bike from before he fixed a few things (mirrors, etc). Looks like maybe he switched the rear seat.
I guess it probably was. That would explain how the rear tire wore through the underside of the storage compartment under the seat slightly.
No biggie.....at least he thought he was a stunter Probably

Get lost Sporty. We're not done making fun of te jackasses that buy GSXR's
Nothing wrong with GSXRs. Some people here will call you a squid cause you got it as your first bike, but get some gear and wear a helmet and take it slow at the beginning and you'll be fine.
I've never met anyone in person from this site, so I can't speak to how they ride, but these folks are really good at ball busting![]()

Yeah.. Well my last car was a talon that was on the brink of 10's. Ran best of 11.05@127 and 11.07 @ 132.
New car is evo. It'll be faster.
I know a bike isn't even comparable, but I couldn't have something that I'd outgrow immediately..
No worries though. I'm very responsible. I want to get good at riding it first and foremost.
And yeah, apparently.. lol
blood in the waters....
enjoy the ride, dude.
Come to Bike night. We will learn ya right quick.![]()

Welcome. Nice brand and model choice!!
Good luck and ride safe! Take the MSF class and don't let your friends let you get in over your head. All it takes is one corner too fast and you either get a reality check or a wambulance ride.

Congrats on joining the madness. Motorcycling has to be a passion. If you have a fire in the belly to ride then you should also have an unquenchable thirst to learn to ride well.
Pay attention to DOC. Lots of folks bust his balls but he has a lot to teach you about riding well. And here that mostly means fast and safe...
