Hey guys, just moved down to Western Massachusetts from Vancouver, Canada half a year ago to start grad school out at UMass. I love speed (had a MP62 supercharged Miata, 450hp track tuned 2004 Subaru STi, and a 300hp daily driver Subaru Impreza RS-T) but trying to get out of cages. Four years ago, I had my only season of riding (99 R1) and now looking to get a 600 for this upcoming season. Yeah, I know, a liter bike as a first bike wasn't a great idea, but it was fun
I'd love to meet some people and go for group rides and grab some drinks.

As painful as that game is for Americans, it definitely helped the game to a broader audience which should help. There's always 2014
No videos of the Miata, but a few pictures. I had to sell it 3 weeks after I got it blown

And finally, my first bike:

Hi. Have you eaten at the Route 9 Diner out your way? Place is friggin awesome.
Welcome!
The cars don't run T12. They straightline it onto the straightaway.
I liked T3 the best in AWD turbo cars. Hard on the brakes chattering the front passenger side over the rumble strips. Turn in while braking to assist with rotation (and nicely lifting the rear inside tire off the ground if not sprung adequately enough) before getting on the gas early early and carrying slight oversteer over the crest of 4. Was an awesome passing area when you needed to get around a higher horsepower RWD vehicle as they couldn't flat foot it due to the transitions..... usually resulted in them passing you back out of the bowl though. Wash, rinse, repeat.
^^ My current daily driver getting flogged by a friend while I was away on business in China.

Hmmmmm,, MP62!
Welcome Hoser, from a fellow Canadian {Ontario born!}. I don't get out much, but do get to trackdays on occasion. Look for the old fart {50} on the old 86 GSXR750.
I have a 93 Miata {1.6} and I haven't gone blown yet. Still debating on turbo vs blower.
There is a new "cold side" MP62 kit from "FFS" for the 1.6 that looks mighty interesting, but that is a ways off money wise.
Oh, I still say "Eh" and pronounce my Rs. I've pretty much lost the "oot and aboot" though!
Eh, Derek! Trow me down deh stairs me 'at, woood ya?
Welcome to the forum!

Ding ding.. another Canadian chiming in. Yes, I was the only idiot at the bar screaming when Canada won... and no, I didn't get a beatdown, but boy did they give me a hard time for a while!
Born and raised in Calgary... and spent a LOT of time in summers etc in Van. It's been 10 years now that I've been here in Boston.. but I still look to head home one day! The bonus is that Montreal is only 5 hrs away.. but still, no replacement for the Stampede! Yeee Haaa!
WE'RE BEING OVERTAKEN!!!
Welcome.
Derek said he is a "Canadian", not a "Canadien". You frenchies might have settled it first, but then all you did was hunt, fish, trap, screw the indian women, and drink fire water.
The English made it country, eh!
{Boy, that ought to raise some hackles!}

You guys...and girls...are hilarious!
I'd love to do the track day but I may need to do it later in the season as I haven't gone riding in a few years and am all rust. That and I'm shopping for a 600 at the moment
Tabby: That's awesome. I had a hotside MP62...turbo v. blown is always interesting. I loved autoX so I chose to go blown and on the Miata. With a 1.6, I'd probably turbo; with a 1.8, i'd go blowni miss seeing the face of people on the street when the car would whine through all gears
I'd love to partake in some French with my fellow French-Canadiens, but being stuck in Vancouver my entire life, the only exposure I've had to Montreal/Quebec are damn good poutines. MMMmmMmm...poutines.
Da poutine with da chicken and little sweet peas on top!! Can you believe that they don't sell cheese curds and BBQ gravy here in the US?!!! I still can't believe it after 11 years of living here! Every time I go to Quebec (few times a year), I make provisions of BBQ gravy (St-Hubert BBQ), a few bags of cheese curds, cheese twists in salted solution, and a few different candy bars such as Coffee Crisp, Cherry Blossoms, Aero and Caramilk!
