To be fair to the Ninja 250, it makes a perfect commuter & we even have a resident Ninja 250 track day heroHe's had that thing for years & rides it very well up at the track.
Not only that but you can usually sell it after a year for the same amount you paid for it & 70+ mpg sounds pretty damn nice with these gas prices, don't it?
Dont underestimate the value of a cheap learner bike, be it a Ninja 250, 500, SV650 or what not... Like I always say, it's your FIRST bike, not your last
Good luck w/ the bike search though.

Panigale 1199S
why isn't your helmet chrome? Would it clash with the red and black scheme of the STI?
Good choice in gear......1st thing people need to buy

Congrats, cbr's aren't bad first bikes, I have a friend who learned on one very well. Hope you like it!
One word of caution though, if you take it around before all the snow is gone, be careful in corners while you're learning, sand and salt like to gather there and don't go away until a few rains after the last melt. Just something you don't have to worry about in a car.
Also, have you signed up for an MSF class (or already taken one)? If not, you should really consider it. It's a great start.

If you run into a wall with a helmet on, you still ran into a wall.
Good words of caution. I was thinking about riding the bike back on Thursday but I figured, this being my first bike/experience, I should just wait, so I arranged to bring it back on a trailer.
I have taken the MSF class which I thought was great. I was never on a bike before that so I didn't even know if I would really like riding or not. I'm glad that I waited to get a bike, I think I got a pretty decent deal(being the middle of winter 'n all) and I got exactly what I wanted.

Now take that bike to a parking lot and don't come out for 6 hours. Then try to ride the streets without going over the speed limit for 2 months.
Welcome to NESR.

Read the first one, working on the 2nd... good stuff. Thanks for the links. I'm happy to read anything that will help keep me alive and make riding easier.
Nice, I am on NASIOC but don't post often, my sn is loudaccord on there also. I've gone to the Wednesday night suby meets before, but haven't been in a while.
