Currently residing in Greenfield, MA. My brother is "JeffL" on these boards, who got me itching for a bike years ago (who's since sold his bike, in preparation for his newborn due in October). Now I've got the time and motivation to take this seriously. Already got my permit and signed up for the MSF Course on July 18th in Westfield, MA!

My budget is a paltry ~$1500-2000. This is my first bike and will choose accordingly. I'm looking for an older, fully functional 250-600. If I had the money, I'd probably prefer an SV650, CBR600 F2/3, Ninja 500, but there are so few used bikes to choose from in Western MA (Especially in my price range). I'd prefer a bike with fairings, though that's not important. Those fairings could even be scraped to shit, I'm just looking for something reliable, not pretty.

1500-2g's will get you enough bike to be happy with.... might not be the prettiest thing or the hottest wheels in town, but it'll be something you can learn from & develop your riding skill on & that's what matters most.
