    Hello from Western Ma

    Hi all,

    I am going through an imposed major life transition (divorce - not my idea).

    I have always wanted to learn how to ride a bike and was told that I shouldn't if i cared at all about my kids. Well her rules don't apply anymore, plus i now have no idea why i let someone else run my life for me.

    So here I am. I just signed up for a basic rider safety course for the end of June, going to get my permit next week and I am currently looking for a bike.
    Looking to spend under 3k.

    Really looking forward to all of this!

    Wear your gear and don't ride drunk. Other than that have fun and enjoy the fact you can have more than just vanilla.

    Have you thought about what kinda bike you're looking for?

    I never plan on drink and riding, I plan on getting the correct gear.

    I am in Westfield, MA.
    I am looking to get a 500 bike or so I believe, I was told not to waste my time with the 250's

    Don't go knocking something without trying it. I like my 250 so far, its a good first bike to not kill myself with. Good luck with whatever you end up getting though and welcome to the addiction.

    Nice area, there are some great roads up that way. I just made my way out there for the first time at the beginning of the Spring and I loved it.

    The only thing that sucks is the 45 min slab on Rt. 2 to get out there.

    When is your MSF course? If I get my bike reg. soon you can ride it in the WSC parking lot...it's pretty big and empty.

    There's some fun roads I know of in Southern W. MA and NW CT. MissTwisties certainly knows them better though. The only part that sucks for us is getting down there.     My course is June 25,26,27.
    I am going to get my permit probably on Tuesday.

    Looking forward to meeting some of you.

    I will definitely take you up on the WSC college offer when your bike is registered.
