Hi all,
I am going through an imposed major life transition (divorce - not my idea).
I have always wanted to learn how to ride a bike and was told that I shouldn't if i cared at all about my kids. Well her rules don't apply anymore, plus i now have no idea why i let someone else run my life for me.
So here I am. I just signed up for a basic rider safety course for the end of June, going to get my permit next week and I am currently looking for a bike.
Looking to spend under 3k.
Really looking forward to all of this!
B
Wear your gear and don't ride drunk. Other than that have fun and enjoy the fact you can have more than just vanilla.
Have you thought about what kinda bike you're looking for?

Welcome!
There's actually a great bike for you for sale right now. A little Suzuki for $1400!

welcome to the site, where in Western Mass are you?
on wearing all the gear and never riding and drinking.
I never plan on drink and riding, I plan on getting the correct gear.
I am in Westfield, MA.
I am looking to get a 500 bike or so I believe, I was told not to waste my time with the 250's
Welcome.
Welcome. I'm glad you're taking the safety course. That's the place to start.

What's up B...
He wants a 500 at least...trust me
When is your MSF course? If I get my bike reg. soon you can ride it in the WSC parking lot...it's pretty big and empty.

Hey there, first off, sorry about your divorce...I know it's not easy to go through...
Second, welcome to NESR. I'm in Southwick, just the town over. I'll be more than happy to ride with you when you're ready. There are some great roads right out our door...![]()

There's some fun roads I know of in Southern W. MA and NW CT. MissTwisties certainly knows them better though. The only part that sucks for us is getting down there. Takes a few hours on regular roads or you have to slab it. Although I will say I don't dread the highway as much now that I've started using ear plugs. Rode 10 hours today (50% highway, 50% rts) in northern New England (VT, NH, ME) and while I'm tired and ready for bed, I've felt much worse after 4 hours of highway with no ear plugs. Anyway, maybe we should take a trip down there on Sunday.

My course is June 25,26,27.
I am going to get my permit probably on Tuesday.
Looking forward to meeting some of you.
I will definitely take you up on the WSC college offer when your bike is registered.
