Hey people! I'm new, thought I'd introduce myself. My name's Matt, I'm 23 and live in monson, ma. Just bought my first bike, an 05 yamaha fz6. I'll be taking the MSF course hopefully very soon. Don't want to ride before taking it, probably just play with the friction zone in my driveway, there aren't really any parking lots near me (small town with one supermarket means it's ALWAYS busy too haha) But yeah I;m just gonna take things slow, buy proper gear, and take what I can from the MSF class, which I hear is a looooot of good stuff. Anyway, glad to be a part of the group, extremely excited to start riding, I'll take some pictures of the bike when it gets here this weekend!
Congrats! I had an FZ6 for 2.5 years -it was a great bike. Make sure to get some gear. Lots of places you can get last year's gear for half the price. That's what I did with my first bike until I figured out that I am really into it!
Welcome, FZ6guy. I am in Ware, not too far away. I have been trying to get my daughter to take the MSF class for the past 2 years, but she never wants to commit the time.... So, good job, for trying to do it safely!
Hit the MSF course, learn some stuff, get a break on insurance, wear at the very least boots, helmet, gloves and a jacket when you are out, and try to keep the shennanigans (and there will be shennanigans) to less traveled roads and off of main street. You will go far!
Welcome!

Thanks everyone! Yeah I definitely plan on getting gear, first a good helmet, jacket, boots and gloves, I plan on some sort of pants but I'll save them for last. Not that I don't enjoy having skin on my legs, just that I think if anything, pants are the thing to wait on. Tropical weather? oh haha monsoon Ma, I get it!Thanks again people for the welcome!
Enjoy the show, man. That fizzle should do anything you ever ask of it.
