Hey hey,
My friend suggested I sign up with this site, looks like a pretty good one! I'm a new rider with an old bike (91 cbr 600 w f3 plastics) . Love it though. Carb needs a cleaning...and it leaks gas where the carb connects to the engine. Something I can do myself or something I should pay someone to do?
Let me know what you think...
Thanks and glad to a member of NESR.

Hi and welcome
I'd strongly suggest not riding or even starting that bike. If it's leaking gas out of the carb boot(s) between the carb(s) and motor...then it's possibly leaking air in. Carbs regulate air / fuel into the motor, you don't want a leak between the carb and the motor. In the end it's a good way to put molten aluminum (that was once your piston(s)) into the crank case.
Older bike, the rubber boots might be cracked to hell or torn if the carbs were removed and installed after they cracked. If only one boot is leaking, I'd still replace them all, pretty cheap insurance policy.
Ever hear of Jamica Plain Jane?
So you think this is something I can take on myself? I not as mechanically inclined as wish I was.
@ Femmekat, Do you work on bikes?
Dont know a Jamaica Plain Jane... should I?
