This is very good advice, these are all excellent starter bikes. A few others to consider:

Yamaha Seca
Yamaha Seca II

A good starter bike is anything with reasonably good brakes and a weak throttle response :P

Also, make sure you invest in quality protective gear; crashing sucks and nobody wants to, but an awful lot of us do. Think about that. :)
