Australia has a two-tiered system for motorcycle licenses: in your first year you are limited by capacity, 250cc and under. Two-stroke or four-stroke, the limit was the same.* You ended up with a situation where a CBR250RR was more expensive than the equivalent CBR900RR.. it was bananaland
* Now they go by power-to-weight ratio I think

Just for the record I used to be on this forum a long time ago. My last post was 11 years ago under SteveCBR900RR. I figured I would drop in and see what I’ve been missing all these years. I figured going under a different name would make it easier to do that. After some research today it seems most are long gone.
