Hi guys, I just passed my MSF course this pass weekend and I'm totally hooked nowI've never ridden a motorcycle till the course but I found it extremely fun and can't wait to ride some more.
this forums seems to have a lot good information and people so I'm very glad to of found it. Now I just need to find a good deal on a beginner bike to get started.
Fingers crossed that's this site isn't blocked when I get to work haha
welcome from another newbie, good luck on the search and keep the shiny side up

thanks for the warm welcome... I was looking at getting a ninja 250 or ex500, just a overall good beginner bike, some of my friends tell me to get a 600 or 750 but i dont wanna get something that is beyond my skills. the only concern I have is that it might be to small for me(I'm 6'1 about 170lb). Im gonna have to go to a dealer soon and see how some of the different bikes fit me, to get a better feel on what works for my body type.
good idea going with the smaller bike, dont let other people tell you that you need a >600 race replica to enjoy motorcycling, get something that you're comfortable on. The good thing about beginner bikes is that they are always in demand so you wont lose much when you go to sell it.
*disclaimer* im a newbie too and dont have much experience, but ive dealt with friends telling me i needed a CBR600RR or i wasnt going to be a real motorcyclist.
Welcome! Suzuki SV650 good beginner bike. You wont outgrow it for a couple of years or more.
Welcome to the forum!
EX250, GS500(f), EX500, 650R, SV650... Those are kinda the five typical non race replica starter bikes from least to most powerful (but still under 70rwhp). Try em all out and see what's most comfortable.

Sweet Welcome, How was the class? I was planning on doing it, asap. I already crashed on my bike![]()
I'm 6'1 200 lbs and haven't found the 250 to be small on me at all (both old gen and new gen)
Greetings from Chelsea![]()
no one has said it yet,.......buy a BUSA!
I'm with ken on this one.....SV650.
wrist control is the key! you only go as fast as your wrist lets you!
with the 250's the point will come way too fast when you are looking for more speed and its just not there. with the sv650 you'll be happy for a couple years.
im on my first bike....an 05 620 monster, dont think its too much for me. I think if i were to start with a 250 id already be wanting something more. 600 range is good because you wont outgrow it so fast. Imo i would buy a salvaged title bike (bikes get totaled for scratches). that way you can have a bike and not worry so much about laying it down. i got mine salveaged for under 2k and put a couple hundred into it and now you cant tell it was ever down.
yea I've been looking at the SV650 and they look great and seem to have more than enough power... the only problem is money lol... I'm really only looking to spend $2,000 - $2,500. I feel it would be a waste to drop a nice bike... so if you know anyone selling a SV650 in that price rang lmk I'd snag it in a heart beat.
Don't go to Revere Beach.
