and i wouldn't feel at home without some ritual hazing, so let it fly guys. anyway, i have an 03 600RR. i've been in socal for the past few years in the marine corps, and i'm out now. i'm at home on the twistys, and i've been itching for a good kneedragging ride since i left cali, so if anyone wants to show me some good roads... other than that, i'm up for whatever. hopefully that involves throwing down some guinness at a pub (and NOT riding home) or going for a ride. so anyone thats close lemme know, i'm in belchertown, which is right next to amherst or UMASS.
Welcome to NESR. I am in Springfield, so close to you I guess. My husband also ride (ZX-9R) and we love to go out in the country to ride backroads.

what are the requirements? is there a website? i need a track day/race like you can't believe. i'm in withdrawls. do i need a racing license or something like that? i don't really expect to be competetive with a stock bike (stock body and everything else) but i can get out there and rip at least. but if i need every bolt on my bike safety wired by this weekend i don't think i'm going to make it.
A trackday is NOT for racing, by the way. No competition is taking place with the other riders. It's only to practice your skills and get better at riding!I did one, surely hope to make another one (when I can afford it), and I'd recommend to anyone who haven't done one, to go for it!

well i try to get in all the track time i can. i haven't started racing yet, but its one of my goals. i just need the money to support it. oh, and i know the difference between a track day and a race, but to me they are the same thing. i found the best way to be fast for me is to follow keith code's advice and ride like you were the only one on the track. the other riders are just getting in the way of my perfect lap.
Welcome to the site.
If you want a track day, keep an eye on the track day forum on this site. There aren't many left this year, but there'll be plenty next year.
If you want to get into racing, yes, you will need a license. My suggestion is to spend a few race weekends at the track helping us in the pits and doing cornerworking. This will get you educated in how the program runs. You need to attend race school (a couple of days and a couple of hundred $) to get your license.
Check out our racing site at www.nesrracing.com to get some info on our team.
Full details about the racing circuit can be found on www.lrrsracing.com
I hope you were kidding about this...Originally posted by FOX

That advice may be fine for expert racers, but in the amateur ranks it will end up getting you, and others, hurt...
