    Recommendations for a Cigar

So I'm now officially living with a woman. She's been "decorating" and that doesn't include motorcycle parts of accessories. So in an attempt to make the apartment better for the make species, I want to finally fill my humidor with cigars. I'm not a regular cigar smoker. I smoke them with friends on occasion (when drinking) or to celebrate an event.

I'd like a smoother mild cigar to have in my humidor that I can enjoy from time to time. Any recommendations?

    Oh, and I'm po'.

My woman said that if I get rid of an ugle rolling cabinet she'll buy me a kegerator that will fit in the door

I don't like the smell of cigars (or cigarette), but one will always get my attention...cherry cigar....that sweet smell I like.

    Recommendations for a Cigar

I am partial to the Padron 1926 anniversary series in the Exclusivo style. About $20 a stick or so.

Also, the 1964 anniversary is really nice. They make a natural or maduro flavour. The maduro is my favourite. A little stronger than the natural, but not overly strong. Ring gage 50, 51/2" long. Box pressed. Takes about 2 hours to smoke and costs about $15 or so each.

Don't smoke cheap cigars, they suck. Find a good cigar you like and buy just one or two at a time for special occasions.

I have a VERY special cigar for when my green card comes through.
    It is one of
these . Impossible to find now, and expensive at about $35 a time, but supposed to be an incredible smoke.

Another bit of advice. They are cracking down on Cuban imports. If you are caught with 1 cuban cigar they can imprison you and/or fine you $10,000. They are not messing around turning a blind eye anymore. It is also ILLEGAL for an American citizen or permanent resident to smoke a cuban cigar ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Having said that, the Honduran cigars are just as good in my opinion. I CAN smoke Cuban cigars (outside of the US) as I am not a permanent resident, but I haven't smoked one since my residency application and I have never smoked one in this country, only back in London.

    derek

    Ahhh Cigars.....

What have you had in the past that you liked?

If you want to stick to one name brand... you just cannot go wrong with Padron.

That's my personal opinion... but one that is shared among most brothers of the leaf.

    I prefer cigars from Nicaragua.

However, if you're looking for a more mild - medium cigar, then I would look for something from the Dominican Republic.

I also like Maduro or Cameroon wrappers.

There's just way too much info I could spew out....

post up some things you've tried and liked as well as some you'ver tried and didn't like.

    Recommendations for a Cigar

While in Aruba I bought a arubian/cuban mixed cigar box. I tried them for the first time on 4th of july they where GREAT!

I'm having my buddy get me more whn he heads down next month. They are not illegal due to having arubian tobacco in it.

If you read Cigar Aficiando (SP?) they will tell you Cohiba's are the best cigar around, but they are expensive, and can be inconsistent in quality. I myself am partial to the Romeo Y Julietta's. Make sure you start smoking something mild and then work your way up to a full flavored cigar, otherwise they will taste like poo and you will have no interest in smoking them.

If you have a humidor I would suggest you get a cigar oasis right away, they seem pricey, but they will keep your cigars at 68% humidity always, and you only have to worry about replacing or refilling the cartridge every 6-12 months depending if you get the jr or the full sized one.

We should all meet at cigar masters or whatever its called in boston and have a smoke.

No, but they are getting more and more strict about cuba with travel and import as a whole.

I'd assume you're talking to me?

Yup your right, I smoke cigars to look cool, and I bought a sport bike to ride up and down main street in nashua to look cool in my shorts and t-shirt.

I actually smoke cigars on my own time usually in the privacy of my house or with friends. They taste very good and are relaxing. I am not a squid cigar smoker

Screw tobacco cigars, pull out the tobacco and put something tastier inside!

Heh, seriously though, I know your take on that shiznit... you cannot go wrong with anything Padron has on the market.

But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

If you used to smoke cigarettes, no, because you will most likely inhale when you smoke a cigar. If you only smoke cigars and do not inhale it will be healthier. You are not getting the nicotine high from cigars like you do from cigarettes either.
