It is the the "rut".

Deer are really animals that skirt the woods, not so much live deep in them. Grass and your expensive landscaping trees make tasty treats to them so they are never too far from us. Add some hunters and testosterone filled bucks to push things around, bam!

The highways down in PA are like frogger this time of year. Driving to Reading from Easton I probably pass 200 that didn't quite make it.
