Perry hill in Waterbury is a great set up - all the trails connect with no road rides and some of the best technical singletrack you'll find. You can run loops all day and not get tired of them - you'll be whipped. Stowe has some great trails but they are a little spread out - road rides between them and you have to know where they are. Same thing for Waitsfield. All these are free, and there are a bunch of good shops in the area to help you out.
Kingdom trails in the NEK (Burke) has some nice trails - not as challenging as the three above, and $10 a day for a pass. Check out the fellowship of the wheel - theres a link to it here Bike29 - Five Hills Bikes . Let me know if you need any thing else.

For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction - and sometimes a scar...

Kingdom Trails is is great, ton of nice single track. Wide variety of trails, easy fire road and difficult single track descents. Its about a 3.5 hour ride from Attleboro area but worth the trip, best to make a weekend out of it.
