    Anyone know someone who can fix compaq computers for a reasonable price?? Mine is dead...Again...I think it got a virus..

    it has frozen up completely...It has windows xp..and I think its about 6 years old..Just had it redone about a year ago...And I live near Manchester.. I think I got all the questions..Oh yeah its not a laptop...Thanks guys.. I am not good with the computer thing..I can't even go back and do a system restore anymore...If that tell you anything...

    I can take a whack at it if you want to drop it with me for a couple days i can work on it at night and see what i come up with, but i am usually good at fixing computers. you can shut it off and back on and then it just freezes when it starts?

    well, glad it's fixed, was it a virus? try running http://housecall.trendmicro.com/hous...start_corp.asp once a week if you do not have an installed virus program, it will scanan fix virus's but the downfall is it will not prevent you from getting them. so if you get a fast acting virus you are still screwed, but it is good to check every now and then,

    AVG Free

    Then go to Microsoft.com and DL the Antispyware Beta. The combination of the two is great and FREE. LEGALLY!
