Trying to convince my old man to take his Polaris Slingshot to a track day. He's pretty leery of the whole thing and thinks its just a good way to smash up his toy.
My goal is to convince him that track days can be a fun and safe way to push your vehicle and learn it's limits. Having ridden Canaan on my bike my thoughts are that this is a good track for someone new to tracks (short, easy to learn, lots of runoff)
I'm unfamiliar with car track days and not sure which groups would be welcoming to a three wheeled machine. I know some of you guys run cars so looking for any helpful advice.
The slingshot is so ridiculous that it makes the Can-am look like a reasonable purchase.
i agree. the wife and i took one for a test drive. way more fun than i thought it would be. the traction control button can be pressed without even taking your hand off the shifter. if i could justify it, we would have one.

There are a lot of Slingshot haters, but I love the look of them. Every time I drive by Mom's south, which is often, I have an urge to take one for a rip and see how it is on the road. And if I had the space to house one inside year round, I would be looking at getting one.

So would I. But at $35k more than the Slingshot I'm good haha.
Pops already owns a Slingshot. I just wanna know if anybody knows a car org that will let a three wheeler do TDs with them.
T Rex is at much different price point...
Edit he got it...I'd rock a slingshot...more reasonable price, bad ass looks, carpool lane access in CA!

When they first had them (and Miles took me for a test ride), the base price was $19,995 and with options, they were going for in the $25k-$30k range, then the price escalated rapidly within 2-3 years, so much so that they dropped the franchise when they got to the 40k-50k range, I'm told the Slingshots are much easier to drive, but nowhere near the cornering performance
