I think I shall go mad

It's 2am and I just got back from working in southboro all day. I left at 7:30am this morning. I should go to sleep. But no, instead I shall pack a suitcase and drive down into boston to catch a 6am flight to winnipeg. Upon arrival I will drive to the customer's site, climb under a bus, and try to find out what's wrong with it. I'll stay there until 5pm monday, at which point I will fly back into boston, land at 10pm, drive to southboro, and try to finish up the product that needs to be done by wednesday and is still having major problems.

Any bets on exactly what point I go completely out of my mind and start flinging my own feces at people? I'm thinking some time around 6pm today is a good number, I'm told that being awake for 36 hours straight can do fun things to the mind, especially when accompanied by extreme stress.

When this is all over, I don't think I'm going to go to work for a while. I figure I might be ready to start working again when we get back from VIR. Maybe. We'll see how it goes.

that's it, you're off the team. I told you that was one of the requirements..... unless you go mad this weekend, then you're back on... but this will NOT be forgotten

Sorry to hear it, I can closely relate...not so bad anymore but I can say that my record is 56 hours functional and unfortunately I test that more often then I should. The trick is only milk in coffee for the first 30-40 hours, then black from there, Mexican food helps but Im not talking about Taco Bell.

Good luck, I hate teh back to back to back shit...

    p.s. how is the donkey?

I think I shall go mad

Whew, so I survived the weekend. At one point I was up with 40 hours of no sleep (other than an hour or two of catnaps caught on the plane) lying in the front tire compartment of a bus thinking hey, I could catch a few winks here and noone would notice...that is, unless they decided to start the coach and drive away.

Ah well, all in a days work of being a contractor-for-hire. The good news is, I worked steadily through january and february and have a full time contract that should last me through march and april. If all goes according to plan, I'll have made more in three months than I normally would make in six. And that might mean taking the summer off to pedal off the extra pounds I've gained working nonstop as well as catching the odd trackday and maybe even taking fridays off to work on my laptimes up at LRRS. Just gotta push through march and april, making hay while the sun is shining.

Anybody got a 98-01 VFR they want to sell cheap? I gotta prepare for the riding season
