What database are you using... Can you just bypass Crystal Reports completely?
That is a very very easy SQL query to write if you're allowed to access the database directly.
edit: Guess it depends on how many tables the "record" is built from.. but it shouldn't be that bad.
I'm studying some database stuff in school right now. We've done some PL/SQL stuff but I've never heard of Crystal Reports.
I hate crystal reports......
