Made my day

I was walking out of the building today for lunch with several co-workers and what should drive by on RTE1??..

The car that started it all for me..

a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 red.. tan interior.. Scuderia Ferrari badges on the fenders. And that glorious 3.3 litre V-12 singing along..

This is a $400-$450k automobile. And 1 of 340 cars world wide.. so needless to say it was a rare site to see a god among us mortals.

My first experience with the 275 was in 1993 at the gov. morris inn, Morristown NJ.. My first real Ferrari Concourse D'elegance.. I got hear one at full song as we left the hotel for the event. Since that day I have been a true Tifosi.. obsessed with the 275s. My all time favorite ferrari. I'm still giddy.

3.3 litre V-12 producing 300bhp at 7800 RPM.. 0-60 in under 6.0 seconds and topspeed of over 165mph.. not bad for a near 40 year old car..

As much as I love motorcycles and racing them. My first passion has always been and most likely always will be Ferrari's.. past present and future..

That would be an Aston.. martin.. Aston..

If its a 360 with the white stripes it is most likely a new 360 Challenge Stradale.. they basically took a 360 challenge car and made it street legal..

430bhp.. uhh yup..

Lambo=Junk..
Trust me on this one.. I got into an argument with an owner who was looking to trade in a 1994 Diablo VT towards a 360 Modena while working for Ferrari of Atlanta.. the build quality of the cars then were terrible.. tho they have gotten much better since bought by VW..

Yes Gordon some had 289s (mk.IV) the others had 427s (mk.VII).. So lets see.. a 4.6 litre v-8 or in some cases a 7.0 litre v-8 versus a 3.0 litre V-12 or a 3.3 litre V-12.. hmmm which was more volumetrically efficient. 1967 the GT40 swept LeMans.. but to prove a point in 1967 Ferrari swept the 24hrs of Daytona.. in the 330 P3's and P4s.. in all fairness the Ferraris were then running a 4.0 litre V-12 vs the 7.0 litre V-8s of ford.. needless to say they were all great cars.

Made my day

I just love Ferraris! I have been lucky enough to drive a few, but there are so many more I would love to drive. The exhaust note of a Ferrari is just pure bliss!

When I used to work in Waltham, most every lunch I'd ride over to Weston center with a sub to check out the beauties lined up in the parking lot in front of Boston Sports Car.

While some lambo's may be junk, the thrill of the spin I took in Murcielago rivals the thrill of any other car I have ever driven. Given that I have only driven a few Ferrari's thats not much to judge it against, but still, its a pretty damn fine automobile...

I highly doubt I'll ever be in a position to afford a Ferrari (while I may be able to buy the car itself one day, judging from the cars the mechanics at boston sportscar drove, I could never afford to maintain it) but its nice to dream and have a benchmark car to compare all others to...

But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
