I may be accepting a new position with a company in Boston next to the alewife T station.. this is a maybe depending on their offer and negotiations
either way... I dont plan on selling the house in cranston but also dont want to commute everyday from Prov
Does anyone have or know some one renting a room in an apt or house where it would be easy to take the T or drive in or such?? I'm a total newb to boston living/ travel. how much would i expect to pay for such....??
I'm scouting craigslist as we speak
I'd love to live in decent place not a rundown place( my friend lives in somerville in a complete crap pad and she pays 550/mth lives with 3 other people, its a place i wouldnt even live in during college) and would be only be there during the week. Canbridge would be cool or such but i think i'm priced out
hmmmm......
If you are thinking Cambridge, It makes sense to just move outright. The weekends are half the fun of living around here. I know its probably not a simple issue, but why not just move to the Boston area.

I agree the weekends are fun
i cant sell the house yet..... its a bad time in RI.
I'd rather wait a year or so before even thinking about it and make the extra $$
plus I dont see myself in Boston for more than 3 years( famous last words)... not enough to buy a place./... rent yes.
and if i put the house on the market it'll take 9 months to sell ( on the long side)
i also might not like my new company.. and like to keep my options for now.
Have spare room manny??![]()

I've been living in Boston for 7 years now. You're going to pay out the ass, but will have fun.
You say you want to have someplace decent, but don't want to pay too much. If you want to live in the actual city of Boston, you're not going to do that. Sorry.
If you need to save money, move into allston, somerville, JP, etc. Also, get roommates.
I personally don't mind paying a little more to live alone and have a nice place to come home to after a long day, so I live in Boston proper in a 1bed.

I live in Belmont, super close to Alewife. It's nice and convenient to Boston too. Check craigslist for rooms in the area.
welll liek i said. i'm just looking for a room in an house not an entire house for myself (i have my house in RI for that) i'll only be theredurign the week and the occasional weekend.
I'll have to check out belmont then..
my biggest concern will be where to store the bike? i'm assuming on the street is a no no locked up and all.
hmmmm......
