My step brother is now living in RI. My mom wanted me to find out today if studded snow tires are legal in RI. He is just starting out on his own and he has a volvo with profile tires on it I guess. She just wanted me to find out if he will be able to use the studded tire he already has for it, or if they need to start finding him other snow tires.

Anyone know?

Doubt if you ever need studded tires.. a good winter set is good but you can get away with an good all weather one.hardly snows worth a dam here... and if it does its cleaned in abotu 12 hours.

They are illegal. My buddy in his bimmer couldnt' pass inspection with them. But yea, it really doesn't snow here in RI very much at all.
