    have something to share...

    Just need to share with someone something that makes me very happy...

    Yesterday was my oldest daughter first day at school...she came from Quebec a few months back, she's been out of school since then. It was hard and very stressfull to get all the papers I needed from Quebec to put her in a school here (custody papers, shots records, etc.). I finally got everything, and subsribed her to the best elementary school in our area, about 100 feet away from our house.

    So anyway, she started yesterday...and for the first time...I was able to make her a lunch, comb her hair, dress her all pretty, and hold her hand to bring her to school...that meant a LOT to me, and to her also. There's only 2 weeks of classes left, but I'll probably send her to summer classes for 4 weeks, so she can improve her english for September...my youngest wish she could go to school also.

    I am now a happy mommy....

    Nice! Good for you and good for her!

    English will come easier for her than for you I would guess (I moved here from France when I was 6, and while my parents were english speakers when I was younger, I could speak more french than english when I came... I still dream in french sometimes )... Now my french is orders of magnitude worse than my english... Some of my friends who have moved since have had far more troubles with English than I did...

    Congrats! And heres to many more happy firsts with you and your daughter here together!

    She will be 9 in August. My youngest is 4 yrs old. Myriam (my oldest) was coming to visit me every few months, for a week or more at a time, and the whole summer. But I couldn't do with her what all the moms do for their kids when sending them to school. Now I can, and it makes me so happy. I am there for her, will always be...the new custody arangement is taht she will live one year here, one year at her dads, and so forth. It doesn't make sense, but I had to agree with this for now to get her here without a war in court. After a year, she will most likely want to stay here, we'll get a lawyer for her if he decide to fight us. She is happy to be with us.

    About the english part, she is learning fast. Kids are like little sponges, they absorb everything. I'm sure she'll do fine.

    Thanks everyone! Maybe it sounded cheezy to some of you, but I don't really have anyone to share this with...except my friends from NESR...lol

    Yes you are right guys....the ones of you who have kids, we understand each other about the feelings involved in our little ones. Now that I have my daughter with me, I feel I can keep an eye on her, protect her, and be there for her anytime she needs me. Both my daughters mean a whole lot more than the world to me...I understand perfectly the words "I couldn't live without them"....it's the real meaning of unconditionnal love.
