i got 1k budget for a laptop. What should i get? No i'm not buying online, i'd prefer to goto a store and pickup. So what would be my options?
2021 Ducati Panigale V2
2020 Honda Grom
Toshiba.
2021 KTM Duke 890 R
2020 BMW R1250GS Adventure Exclusive
1982 Honda CB750F Super Sport
i picked up a sony vaio last april for $999 at compusa after rebates, i know i shouldn't say this out loud, but it's been very reliable so far.
Scott
1990 Honda Hawk NT700 (rebuilt?)
2012 Ducati Streetfighter 848 (retarded fun)

Toshiba.
Spend 900$ on a decent core 2 duo laptop then go get a healthy ram upgrade for it with the extra hundo.
No XP home or Vista.
EDIT: No DELL, HP, GATEWAY either.
I have a Sony Vaio I bought 4 years ago and it also has been completely reliable. Plus you can buy extra batteries at the Sony outlet store in Wrentham for $50 instead of the $200 Sony wants at their website.Originally posted by smf

You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.
I just got a Lenovo Thinkpad T60 at work. Seems great so far. No clue what it cost though. My last PC was an IBM Thinkpad T23 and that one worked great for the few years I had it.
The three Toshibas (Tecra 730, Tecra 550, Tecra 8000) I had in the past were all troublesome.
So there you have it, anyone can have a bad day.
Look at the reviews online, when I bought it was Toshiba or Dell XPS.
We bought the Dell, no problems in one year.
If you are going brickandmorter, you should buy form the store that has the best reputation for service and support.

My company just got rid of Dell as a corporate standard due
to a lot of problems. Toshiba was hit or miss depending on
the model, the higher end ones were typically more reliable.
We are now strictly an IBM shop and I just got the R60
Lenovo. So far I like it.
