    Hey Beth

Got a season pass to loon/waterville/cranmore from my father this christmas, how's the snow looking up there?

Oh and if you can pull yourself away from those snow guns for a second, how about hopping online and saying hi I've got a friend who's trying to plan a ski trip for her coworkers from NJ, thought you might have some suggestions...

    Hey Beth

and i am patrolling now thank you. i am on snow 7 days a week starting this saturday. i picked up a coaching job for the weekends up at bretton woods.

so i am at loon m-f.

yah, the rain hurt us but we are making snow as fast as it was taken away. we are opening more trails this weekend. all you need right now are edsges and good wax. don't come up for the holidays period...that is when crowds suck!!!

a good ski trip would consist of hitting up a couple nh mountains as well as going to jay peak...they are getting lots of snow up there and thats definatly the bomb to ski.

let me know more details that you want to know...

tell me when you are coming up so i can keep an eye out for you.

    later

yah i see ya in bars. i don't party that much. at least i wasn't molesting a penguin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hey Beth

Hey Beth and Suf, thanks for the responses, I'm sure I'll be seeing both of you on the mountain very shortly! Just waiting for my skis and bindings to come in, which isn't really a big deal since the pass I have is blacked out between christmas and new years...

So what are the snow conditions like at the moment? I'm dying to try out the new skis but if it's still a bit patchy in places maybe a better idea would be to take the cheapie 120s and bang them off the rocks until the base gets a little deeper...

Beth, as far as the ski trip, there are three main things that they're looking for. First is a mountain with decent range of difficulty, these are mostly jersey skiiers so a lot of them don't have much in the way of skiing time under their belt. I doubt they'd be very comfortable at a place like Cannon or Wildcat, OTOH Loon insofar as I can remember (haven't been there in probably 4 years) has a nice variety of conditions, along with a few "real" runs for the more hardcore skiiers in the group...am I on base here?

The second thing is they're trying to keep the trip fairly low budget...the old "cram as many people into a hotel room as you possibly can" as well as finding a mountain with decent group rates would work well. I told them I'd poke around and see what's what, do you happen to know the group rates at loon this year?

Finally, they're looking for an area with good nightlife For this I'd recommend killington if I didn't hate the skiing there so much, not to mention the price is far from reasonable there. North Conway is pretty much dead in my mind as far as nightlife, what's there to do up there near Loon/Waterville?

    at least i wasn't molesting a penguin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You two crazy kids, there must be a story here...or maybe this is one best kept to yourselves?
