The really bad part is that they are now reporting the father petitioned to have rights to spend time with his son as he previously had none. WTF? This might sound effed up, but part of me is glad they're being merciful and taking the boy off life support... Not only will he be in a much better place w/o the pain and suffering of getting beaten, but the circle of abuse in that family might have a chance to stop with the inevitable death of this man who doesn't even deserve to be called a father.

I Know someone (close friend) who was a victim of such treatment. They shuddered when this came across the news cast last night. the perp should be put out in the rotary outside on rt 2 in Concord and have ppl with buckets of stone that you can grab a hand full to be thrown on this guy and every molester type .... etc etc. till they have erradicated them from society either by death or fear of death / punishment

One of the reasons the defense lawyer protested the life support ruling was so that it didn't become a murder charge.

Depraved indifference, she could have at least called the police the minute she saw it happening and maybe prevented the boy from being in the situation he is in right now.

Most likely the police found out that she basically was there, didn't take part, but knew what was going on and didn't care, so they charged her as well. I agree 100% with this, if I thought a boy was being beaten next door to me I would call the cops instantly, not sit by and wait until the kid is dead.

Yes it is deserving of jail time. Any mother will tell you, there is no fear great enough to keep me from protecting my baby cubs.

Death penalty sounds like a great fit, until I think about how humane we will be and how quickly it will be over. There needs to be an infinate amount of suffering.

The charge should be upped to murder, but really, it doesn't matter. They WILL take care of him in the pen. He'll pray for the chair, and if he can find a way he'll end up offing himself. Fortunately, on PC cases like this (this dude is going to live in PC) even offing yourself is more or less impossible. He might be in "protective custody" but when certain rules are broken (being a snitch, assaulting a female guard, beating a child into a coma, raping a child, etc) the guards tend to feel just like the rest of us. "accidents" will happen. He'll end up on the floor when other inmates get released, usually ones doing serious for violent crimes time that care about a write-up. He’ll end up in the infirmiry and “accidentally” get locked in a room with someone doing hard time, who knows why he’s there. He won’t live out his sentence, and even if he does right around release time it’s quite likely he’ll have an accident. More likely he’ll keep getting violated for assault (for getting his ass beat) while he’s in there, stretching the sentence on forever. The guards will make it worth the inmates time for the write up by bringing them pizza, subs, D&D coffee, etc anyway.

Situations like this have a way of working themselves out in jail. This dude will spend the next several years wishing he got the death penalty, and because of that I'm glad he didn't.
