So I am chillin' here in Kuwait with nothing to do for the next 24 hours. Plane ride was a grueling 12.5 hours in COACH! (Not Recommended) Even Drunk, on meds, & I still couldn't sleep...WTF
Missed the last race weekend, Burgs party, and still had one kick ass hangover.
Heading out tomorrow, and working our way to the IZ
(Green Zone) for a week of "Fun in the sun. " I do like the "Blue Bird" rides though. Maybe they will be a little more crazy this time around.
Debating if I want to go out for a Kamikaze taxi ride, This SHOULD be my last time out here. Then there should be some Afghanistan work if all goes well...
Well wish me luck and have a great week guys...
good luck over thee & b safe

Took a ride out to the "Green Zone" where I will be for about 2 weeks now. Working at the Embassy, Just so much to do. Way more than expected.
The security is retarded, which is a good thing fro me. Just hope the shoulder sticks it out with me without much fuss. I'll try and post some cool pictures while I am out here. Gives me something to do while in my Hooch at night. ;-)

If you look at the second picture w/ the Helicopter, those huge Overhead Coverages in the background are what we design out here.
They are an OHC (Over Head Coverage) System. They get put up over anything that will have a large number of troops in them. Gym, DFAC, Theater, Housing, Flight Line BLDG, Embassy, Etc...Etc... Should anything come over the wall, the top roof layer absorbs the hit and under that is a couple other layers of shielding that protects anyone underneath.
The T-walls go around the outside perimeter encase anything comes in at an angle. Pretty cool stuff.
I feel pretty lucky helping the military as a civilian from a draftsman's point as I'm also on the survey team so I get to these projects through from Survey to as-built.
My own little way of saying *Thanks* to our armed forces here.
I thought scottyj designed those.
He sent me this pic of the one you designed out there...
