Cheap surveillance

I’m having an issue with my truck at my garage and I was wondering if anyone one knew of a cheap set up to record video. I would probably put the camera inside the vehicle but I could run an extension cord to the truck.

Blue Iris software. Way too good to be only $29.

Y cam Black or Knight, best cheap network camera on the market. Outdoor housing is an extra $75. Wifi won't work over long distances, BTW, you'll need to run a data line in most cases.

At the house I'm using a webcam and Yawcam (free software). It's setup to record still images based on motion. The number of images per second is adjustable as is the sensitivity of the motion sensor. I set it up to send me an email at my work address with images so that I'll know when something's happening at home and be able to see if it's a burgaler or the neighbor's dog in the yard.

Yawcam has a streaming option but I've never played with it. Generally speaking the software interface is pretty basic but seems powerful and flexible to me. Can't beat the price either!

I'm sure Jaime will be able to help you better than I can, I've seen his shit and its tight. If however you look to go a different direction, I know pepboy's has some easy to install garage kits available and I can get them at my commercial discount or I'm sure carla will have access to the same systems.

Someone scraped the sticker off the plate and tossed the plate on the ground, twice. I have a feeling that it is one of the neighbors cause he doesn't like that we rent the garage and work on our stuff there. You can't store an unregistered vehicle on residential property in Salem.

We have a ton of people using our software to access home automation and security cameras and whatnot. Pretty interesting stuff.

Do you need a PC to support it at the house? Or can you communicate directly to the camera from a remote PC via your router at the house?

are you using the software that came with it?

mine takes way to many pics of nothing.

on the lowest settings it will take a pic of the shadow of a cloud.

Only a Router is needed you get a years free of TZO ot sololink. I use dyndns.com to host so you do need where ever you camera's are a computer to be on at all times.

Sandamn on the lowest setting I once in awhile get cloud cover email sent to me. I use the mp4 video set up and not the pictures. Not sure if this makes any difference.
