I recall a story of a race car being stolen, a local person that used to race Camel GT iirc back in 1960's, similar instance, parked at a motel, but in Texas, when reported, the local sheriff had already "found it" and wanted a ransom for it's return

An even easier way.....Just stakeout that last know point because sooner or later it'll be back by again.

I see it was found dumped on the side of the road - undamaged, nor far out of town.... truck and trailer still missing
