Well, i have a parkin ticket hearing today at 3pm at Boston City Hall
long story short i parked my bike on a sidewalk & got tagged for parkin in a No Stopping or Standing Sone. well if the ticket was for a sidewalk then the city of boston would have my 40 bucks... but a No Stopping zone is almost twice that at 75... well fuck that, it's a street sign, not a sidewalk sign.
so i typed up a little speech last night. my mom said it sounds arrogant... whatever parking tickets have absolutely no right to be on a motorcycle anyway, nevermind MY motorcyclejk
My other two points of argument (though they're pretty weak, i don't even know if i'll present em) is that the "No Stopping Zone" sign was like 10 feet away from the road (i dont even know if that fact makes it a valid street sign or not) and the other bikes i've seen park there... OF THE ONES THAT ACTUALLY GOT BAGGED... all had Sidewalk fines on em. why is my case different?
i guess i'll find out soon enough. i'll try not to come off as an arrogant ass
and i'll probably ditch the "distance from the road" theory as i have a picture i'm gonna show them showing the area & a bike in the picture, though parked on the street, has a ticket for... u guessed it... No Stopping/Standing zone![]()

you'll sit on the bench in the open area by the parking fine payment windows, then in a cement room you'll watch the Suffolk LAw student flip over the cassette in the machine to "record" your testimony....only to get erased by the next flip of the tape.
Unless its private prop or unmarked.
They don't care.
If its a woman, beltch after you verdict.

Take it all the way, if you can't win, be an asshole and make someone's day that much more miserable!

If the intent is to reduce it to the $40 sidewalk parking charge, then add on a court fee?, you're still gonna be at the same priceAnd if they don't reduce it, you're gonna pay the full fine plus court costs

i went into it not caring how much money i had to pay as long as it wasn't 75 bucks for parking in a zone i wasn't in.... and it was an "Administrative Hearing" so i don't think there were any court charges associated w/ it if i lost, but i dunno.
and for those that lacked faith, here's my story
so i show up at 2:40 (my appointment was for 3) i get my number called at 2:50... and by 2:55 i had the guy telling me he was throwing out the ticket

it was actually some young guy, not much older than myself... he seemed pretty cool about the whole thing. i didn't even read what i wrote, i just paraphrased it... i explained to him the circumstances of why i parked there & knew i was testing my luck even though i was only planning on being there for a maximum of 15 minutes. explained to him why i thought the ticket was incorrect & that the few bikes i see parked there that got tickets were ticketed for something other than i what i was ticketed for.... i showed him the three pics i brought & he dismmissed it no more than 5 minutes after i started talkin
He just added "don't park there again or you'll get a ticket for parking on a sidewalk" and i told him i knew that & that was the only time i parked there... ever.
