    Borescope experience?

Has anyone ever used a borescope to track down a plumbing leak? How did it work out?
I bought a house yesterday, it had been a foreclosure, empty for a year, and I planned on there being a few unknown problems. The biggest one I found so far is the master bath. It has a beautiful marble shower with 4 wall-mounted kohler bodyspray units and one big overhead rainshower unit. The house had been winterized, but I believe this shower was not winterized correctly. When I turn on the water, I get very little out of the shower heads. Most ends up in the basement, dripping through the holes where the hot/cold water pipes go through the floor. (luckly an exposed ceiling in the basement)
The bad news is that the back side of this shower is where a gas fireplace is built into the wall, so I have to either trash the marble shower area or rip out the gas fireplace. Either one is a significant undertaking. Because of the arrangement of the bodyspray units, and all the controls for them, the leak could be anywhere in a 6' by 10' area. I am thinking that I may be able to use some sort of borescope to try to pinpoint the leak (or leaks). There are gaps around the controls that I can feed a borescope into.
I am also assuming I can rent a borescope from one of the larger rental shops. (?)
If anyone has experience with borescopes, and can recomment a specific type, etc, I'd appreciate any feedback.

They make repair panels so you can access through the front of the shower. They look kind of like a football. While you're cutting copper out - do yourself a favor - cut back a ways until it's easy to work on and repair it with PEX. Good luck
