Yours is more artful, but I have a better Commentator....

I watched you chew up the snow bank and was thinking how great a job it was doing and wishing mine could do the same. Then I realized when I read your link I think I have the same snowblower. Ha Ha
Aren't they awesome? I've gone from a 5hp to a 7.5 to 8 to 11.5 in 7 years. This machine as you know has an OHV 318cc Tecumseh with 11.5hp, and more importantly 14.5 ft lbs of torque. I use all that powa.
It may not be apparent but since there's parking on both sides of the street, the plows just push everything into your car - after salting here and there, so the stuff is even slushier than normal. Even the 8hp couldn't throw it the width of a parking space.
This winter I got with the neighbors and we move five cars up and back so I can throw it all to the curb, then go up the sidewalk and clear the sidewalk. So what used to take five people 30 minutes or more each is now done in 10-15 minutes total. I clear the sidewalks the length of the street and a few elderly folks cars as well - improves neighborhood morale.
LCT how has a 414cc snow engine with 18.5 ft lbs.....

I've got a 12.5 HP blower and agree... the bigger the better!

I'm always amazed at the amount of work they do. Most two stage snow throwers can move nearly one ton of snow per minute.

yeah the simplicity we have has a briggs and stratton with 16.5 gross torque. absolutely throws snow over 40 feet haha.
