Hey all, my friends looking to get rid of his ride, it's of the cleanest, best sounding bikes I've seen (I'd love to buy it but no $) it has almost 11,000 miles, he's the 2nd owner, and he's maintained it and rides it like an adult.
extras include:
flush mount directionals,
Hot Bodies undertail w/ integrated brake/directionals,
Jardine RT-1 carbon exhaust (slip ons, still has stock ti headers)
frame and spool sliders, never tested
pc-III usb mapped for the Jardines,
tires are Bridgestone Battlax BT-56 120 f, 190 r, these tires have less than 200 miles on them,
comes with passenger seat and cowl as seen in pic
Bike has been well maintained including a new battery and oil change (Castrol synthetic), this spring, and the fork seals were just replaced a couple weeks ago.
The Bad:
Bike fell over while parked, onto it's left side. Full diagnostics done at local reputable shop, where he then replaced the tank, left side fairing, nose fairing, mirror, directional, and exhaust. Everything was replaced with factory parts or better. These pics were taken today, clearly there are no further cosmetic issues.
He'll be throwing in the stock exhaust, pics here:

He's looking for $8500obo. Lots more pics available, just ask!
Thanks for looking!

2001 RC51!!!
2007 Husky SMR 510 - no longer... blown tranny
It's not my bike, I only put it on here for a fiend who has yet to get a computer. I don't think I'd buy it for $8500 but yes, we are open to opinions/ suggestions. Also, it has a current inspection sticker, what makes you say it won't pass?
-bryan
Current inspection is meaningless for a new buyer especially out of state..
lack of turn signals - fenderectomy with hidden rear plate mount.
Been there done that. Looks nice doesn't pass.
regarding value bike is now 5+ years old.

Retail is about $7000. No one is going to pay retail in this economy. Even with the mods and the shape it is in.
I know, it sucks. It is a VERY nice bike but kinda in a niche market.
I had a friend sell one last year. I'll see if I can find out what he got for it. (I am thinking $6500)

The RC is one of my all time favorite bikes.
G/L on the sale.
I would think it would move @ $6499
My friend just bought one that was also in a very good condition for about 5k, you will never get 8k for it, it is nice though

2010 tC
no bike
Now asking $7000.00
-bryan
I was thinking around $5,000 for an RC-51 in a market where you can buy a 2007 Ducati 1098 for $10k with half the miles.
A 2009 R1 with 1,000 miles for $9,500
A 2009 Kawasaki klx250 for $3,500 with 270 miles on it.
Your friend needs to see what is actually selling.

Folks, really, I know this, explained it, but I'm being a friend and he asked me to put it back up, just doing a favor. I'll pass on the advice to him...again.

tell me about it i was going to try to sell my 749, dropped it down to 5800 and no bites, good luck to you
Yeah, I heard you can get brand new 1000RR in the $8k range these day. You can get crazy toys for cheap right now. The Big RC wasn't even that great then and now it's a dinosaur..It does look cool.

Owners swear by these bikes. Got bad press because of fuel deliver issues I think. This one's got a PC so that's most likely taken care of. Good luck to your buddy.
They run a bit lean off idle and had a bit of a dip in power about 5000rpm stock. All done to pass emissions, I believe. The Power Commander takes care of that completely. I own a 2000 and the PC made a big difference for mine. These are great bikes and this one looks damn clean. No comment on price because I have no idea. Good luck on the sale!
