1992 VW Cabriolet

1992 VW Cabriolet - 5-speed, leather(ette?) interior, power windows, 117Kmi. Runs and drives well, fun in the sun. Clean VT title.

I bought this car for my wife in the spring because I am often out of the house on my motorcycle, and I thought she should have a fun toy too. She drove it about four times, and then it just sat in the yard. I'd have to remind her she had it on nice days. Finally, I gave up and started driving it. It gets 30 MPGs, is a convertible, and is fun to drive. Only then my friends all started to pick on me for driving around in a cute white VW convertible. Lots of inappropriate jokes were made and my self-esteem was deeply harmed. (Okay, not really, but you get the idea.)

I spent a small fortune getting it mechanically squared away because I thought my wife would be riding around in it with my 2 year old daughter. The following stuff was done at a cost of....a small fortune. (I have the receipts.)

-New head gasket, remachined head with new valve job less than 1000 miles ago.
-New timing belt.
-New water pump.
-New - not used - shocks, springs, and coil springs on all four corners.

When I bought the car, I was encouraged by these things:

-New(er) tires.
-New brakes
-No wheel bearing noises.
-E-brake works as it should.

This car passed inspection in June. Shortly thereafter, the furnace at our house decided to....cease functioning. Now its fall and I have to buy a new boiler for the house, and this car still sits.

$3500 or best offer, some trades considered.

That's a dope ride, I've owned 7 Dubs including 4 A-1 GTi's. Saw a MINT or reconditioned yellow '76 Rabbit the other day, with the GERMAN dash and everything it was so nice I turned around to follow it for a minute and meet the owner.

But alas I have no cash, could only trade you the Bimmer and that gets you nowhere.

2004 model, only personal use, never used commercially. No hour meter on it. Used once a week during spring-fall since bought new in 2004.

48" deck, mulching capable, has a mulch deflection gaurd, comes with a bagger which is a solid steel enclosure, as well as a Silky. (Riding platform attaches like a trailer)

Could either use a new throttle cable or may just be an adjustment? Could use new blades, but everything works perfectly the way it is now. Starts first or second pull always, never had an issue..

Hate to get rid of it, but the G/F doesn't even think of trying to use it. We are looking to get a ride on..
