Hey so... my ride on lawnmower just became part of the big bang theory cause "THIS GUY!" didn't check the oil... and as my father-in-law just said over the phone..
"Bang? Bangs not good..."
So anyone has a decent nothing special ride on they are selling? or know of one... mind you my yard isn't big... but the only way I can get the wife to help mow is if we have a ride on
So if anyone sees anything let me know...
Thanks in advance,
Mike
My parents may have an old school one still in their shed...I'll see if they want to part with it or not.

try craigslist yet? you could shop for a hummer while your there..
How far do you wanna drive?
My neighbor has a few of them in reasonable condition and I'm sure I can get you a good price since I've bought a few crappers off him over the years.
PM if you want a location.
Thanks for the offer... the wife gave me the ok to just go buy new... so I decided on the Craftsman LT2000 17.5hp B&S, 42" deck etc...
A little story on that though for those of you who are bored....
Orderd the tractor online cause you got another $25 off from the sale price... scheduled to pickit up in Auburn.... Went last night to get it... they roll over one that didn't look anywhere near new... looked like every kid and their sister had scratched it etc.. dirty... some surface rust... obviously stored outside like every where these days... I say "no thankyou" I'll take another and subsequently spend 45 minutes looking through the 10 or so tractors they had... all of wich were stored outside...
Ok... so I will say that the kid helping me did just that... he took my crap well and stayed professional... good for him... finally after swapping hoods on two machines to make one that looked "decent" but still not new in my eyes... I concede and go home with it...
I get it off my trailer... check the oil... put in some gas and fire it up... I mowed for like 20 minutes... and parked it... about 1.5 hours later I go to move it into the shed... backfires and won't start... lovely... go inside... call customer service who schedules a tech to come out today... again the people were very helpfull...
Get a call this morning... tech is enroute... I roll the tractor back to the driveway where I notice a medal gasket, a rubber gasket and a bolt on the driveway... what the!! I pop the hood and notice the carb hanging off the engine... what the!!! obviously the issue... and now I have a missing bolt... and I decide to look through it some more and notice the oil is now a nice milky white color... what the!!! so Mike the tech shows up... and again... is very helpful.... I show him the carb... and the oil... we bolt on the carb and it fires up... but the bolt needs to be ordered... he then tells me that it looks like there is water in the oil...
I'm done... it's going back... he agrees... and agrees it is aweful that these are stored outside...
bring the tractor back... waiting for a fight.... I walk in.. they remember me... I again get great service... but I tell them I won't take anything but BRAND NEW!!!... they have now scheduled a new tractor to be delivered tomorrow free of charge... sounds good to me!!!
so that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!
Mike
crazy story man. I hear you though, when you shell out good dough for something that's suppose to be new..... it better be perfect.
