I'm selling this one out of my collection of rare bikes as I barely ride it these days and I could use the funds for my Aprilia RS500 hybrid build.
The bike is all stock and in excellent condition with no mechanical issues. A couple of nicks here and there, which is usual for a bike from `86.
The bike always starts on the first kick and is a blast to ride.
It's bone stock (hard to find one of these in stock condition and this clean) and has the all important solo seat cowl.
The bike has 34.000 kms on it and the engine received full rebuild at 32,000kms including a new crank. For those in the know, these are very rare bikes with a total of 1,900 made.
I imported it from the Netherlands 5 years ago, so it does not have a USA title as being the importer, I face a huge fine if I try to reg it as I imported it as "Racing only". That does not mean you can't title it, just means I can't.
I have seen these selling for much more recently, but I have put a reasonable price of $7,500 firm for this rare bike in this condition.
Open to partial trades for a VFR800 or street legal supermoto.

OH Neato!!!! I've never seen one. Is that GP style upper and lower exhausts?! Cool to see it on an 86. Good luck with your sale.

I use to have the same bike....amazing performer. Use to spank my buddies ducati superlight back in the day.... grab it while you can as its only going up in value, if RGB500 owns it you know its going to be a show bike.... there are only a few in the country...
Price is very good for a great example. You might have to ebay it to get more action...Very limited two stroke nuts around here like us![]()
Dan, I'm in no real hurry to sell it. I threw it up on here as I figured someone in the N/E might be interested in it. Most of the interest I have had are from guys in Cali. I hate shipping bikes!
I took it out for a short blast this morning and it refreshed my memory of how much fun it is to ride. I don't ride it much these days as I want to keep it in the condition it's in. Most of my riding time is on my NSR250.
Besides, I have a few vintage TZ250's I can sell off.
I use to have aftermarket cans on mine...What a tinny wierd wild sound that bike made. I use to get tons of folks chasing me as they had never seen one before. In real life, the bike is one of the best looking bikes ever.... have a guy register it in VT...then transfer it the Ma....
I own this exact bike and I need new tires for it, and was wondering if you had any recommendations for a really good, sticky, street tire in these unusual sizes.
Please respond to me at chasgould@mac.com, and please send me details on your TZ250's that might be available for sale.
Thanks,
Chas
Did any of you guys notice the cool kickstand fairing?
