Great example of your basic workhorse 2nd gen SV. Purchased from a NESR member in 2013. I’d keep it, but can’t ride this season due to (non moto related) injury. It’s in ‘street’ trim, even though it has only been used for a few track days since 2015. Never down during my ownership.
I’m not much of a wrench, so all work (except for frame sliders and rearsets) has been done by Motorcycles of Manchester. I have all maintenance receipts.
New as of last season:
Michelin Pilot Power front tire.
Woodcraft Rearsets (standard shift)
SVRacing Frame Sliders
Front brake rotors.
Chain & sprockets.
Yuasa battery.
Rear tire (also Michelin Pilot Power) was replaced in 2013, but has not seen many miles of street use. Just a few novice & intermediate track days, so it’s still in good condition.
Has a Power Commander III installed, but I have not messed with it.
The bad (to the best of my knowledge):
Front wheel has slight bend, so you can feel a bit of pulsing at a certain speed. It has been that way as long as I’ve owned it and hasn’t bothered me at all. You can’t feel it above / below ~35 mph (+/- 4mph), but mentioning it in the interest of full disclosure.
Bodywork is missing a couple fasteners. Zipties FTW!
Few scratches here & there (tank, fairing, grab bar), but not bad for a 14 year old bike.
Small rip in the seat.
I bought it for dual purpose street / track, but I don’t really ride street anymore. Combined with not being able to ride this year, I figured it’s better to match this bike with a good home and purchase a prepped track ride next year. PM with any questions or if you’d like to come see it. Thanks!
