Bump for a killer bike! I had the same bike and miss it every day.
Good luck with the sale
Yamaha
Too bad they have not built a naked bike with that engine.
Free bump for seeing one with this exhaust on 93 this morning. Sounds down right angry.
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
Free bump for the meanest Jap machine I've ever been on. Wishing I had the extra cash right now!
Keeping the bump going for a bike God did not bless me long arms for. Love everything about it. Although, I like the Heli-bars/ streefighter idea for me, I prefer the fairings - that is what makes it.
1995 Yamaha FZR600- my learner, sold
2001 Yamaha YZF-R1- stolen
2005 Suzuki GSX-R 750- cutoff by an illegal U-turner and totaled
2007 Yamaha YZF-R1- stolen... R1s are a hot commodity, huh? any anti-theft system suggestions?
Current: 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1

This 2009 color scheme is my favorite R1 ever made....the red seat just does it for me.
Ghostride37, if you had to pick between your first R1, the 2001, and the 05 gixxer 750, what would have your pick? It'd seem like the R1 since you've had another since and are interested in my 09 apparently, but the R1 seems to have changed more significantly over passed generations than the gixxer 750 since it has no competition, so specifically between the 01 R1 and 05 gix750, I'm curious.
What kind of cars? looking for one for my daughter.
between those two... i might have to say the gsxr actually. But mostly because of the fact that the 2001 R1 was still carbureted and the gsxr was fuel injected, which i thought made a difference in how it rode (it was also much lighter than the R1). it was a lot easier to ride aggressively through turns and stuff than the R1, although that might also be because i was a more experienced rider by that time.
But after having my 2007 R1 for a while i know that i can never go back to anything less than a 1000cc, being such a huge person i think i need that to have enough power-feel. i am partial to yamahas and suzukis still because i dont really like the looks of newer hondas or kawis. i really like the undertail exhaust look especially, so thats why i like R1s slightly over gsxr 1ks

Bump for a great bike! Love the color scheme.
Good luck man, mine's the one that I posted up for sale last night. Just sold it, picking up the new Ducati on Wed. I've never sold a bike in less than 24 hours, I'm kinda shocked.

Probably not what you want to hear after dealing with all that, but I'll give you $4k for that R1![]()
