Why? You ride an SV650. You should be looking for an SV650 shock... preferably one that says "Ohlins" or "Penske"

Not many 'busa owners on here... you might have better luck checking some other zook forums.

yea, I picked up an '03 SV a little while back. I know most say the busa shock is too stiff but I weigh 235-240 and my girlfriend(115) is gonna want to ride 2 up next summer so i think it should be just right, maybe a little stiff but that would be better than too soft wouldn't it?

Pete K will only help you out if your looking for Penske. Go with the 636 shock, its closer to the factory spec.

    Re: WANTED: Hayabusa rear shock

the 636 shock has a spring rate of 540lb whereas the busa shock is 700lb. If the shocks were brand new, yea the busa shock would be too stiff for solo riding but its going to be atleast a year or two old so the springs will be a little softer than factory specs.

That should make the busa shock the perfect chioce for me for solo and two up riding

actually...PK would say "if you cant afford to do it right, how can you afford to do it over?"

spring rate is all fine and dandy its the leverage though. a busa doesnt weigh 160lbs more than a 636, so why would it have a stiffer spring? the leverage used to compress said spring is different thats why. try "kickstands and wheelies" in Maine. they may have something for ya.
