I'm looking for a fully rigid MTB, older is fine, cheap is good. Older may actually be better as I'm looking for steel forks & rack eyelets on the rear. It can need TLC, parts, whatever. If youv'e got something kicking around in the basement let me know. Figured I'd try here before CL...
Thanks.
Hrm... I've got an early 90's Cannondale SM 700 in the basement... how much are you looking to spend?

It'll depend on the bike, but probably not more than $100. I'm not looking for something awesome, it's for a project and will likely end up retired in a couple years. My primary rigid ride is a 29er, and I have a bike for basically every situation except this one, go figure.![]()
What are you looking to do with it.. I work pt in a bike shop.. Ill see what we have around.
Looking to do the e-bike conversion thing, I happened upon a kit for free on the criteria that I'll review it and help them improve on it. That's why I need steel/chromoly forks (to hold the hub motor) and rack bosses (to hold the rack, battery and controller).
Sweet, I appreciate it. Let me know if you come across anything.
I've got an old GT Outpost that needs a home. $50.

It had a rack on it when I got it many years ago. I'll see if it has the eyelets, the rack mounted from near where the rear axle is.
No pics right now, think old all steel full sized frame MT bike.

Cool. If the rack mounted down there it'll probably work. Assuming it has eyelets, all I really need is a picture of where the front axle meets the dropouts on the fork, and verification that it's a chromoly/steel fork. Could be just what I need.
Thanks.
I have a "Giant Iguana" that needs a home. A good tune up as well.
That'd be sweet. whenever you get a chance, if you could just take a look to verify that it's a chromoly/steel fork, that it has eyelets, and take a quick pick of the fork dropouts, save us both the time if it's not going to work. If that stuff will work, we can sort out the details of actually meeting up.
Appreciate it!
I'll snap some pics as soon as I get over there, it is at my folks house hanging up in their garage.

Awesome, I appreciate it.
That's it!
Not sure which mounting tabs you were looking for, so I took a picture of both.

PM me, I have a GT saddleback in pieces at my parents house. $20 and it's yours. Frame is 18" I believe. I think it's just missing pedals and a stem.
I've got an older Barracuda A2B, plastered in stickers with brand new tires and a recent tuneup (last fall) that I'll let go of on the cheap. Tuneup and tires cost me $75, that's what I'd like to get for it. I rode it once since (I have a Fisher FS that's my main).

Cool, thanks! That may do the job, but I'm going to try to take a look at CQ's first because it's only a few minutes away, I'll be passing by it 5x this weekend and every day going to/from work. I'll let you know.
Where is your parents house?
I think we have a winner here, good deal on a good bike and the location is very very convenient. I assume it's in Amesbury? When could I come take a look at it?
Anytime is fine with me. I'll be around tonight/tomorrow. I fly to Cali on Monday for a week, but will be back next Saturday if you don't want to face the Memorial Day traffic.
Edit: Stack of pics. Like I said, this is what I do with extra stickers.
If I'm not home, I can leave it outside. If you don't mind looking shady, I'll let the neighbors know you'll be coming to grab it. You can just pay me whenever, I'll probably end up on a ride with you this season anyway.![]()

Couple more. Little dirty, tires need some air, but they're brand spanking new. I had it tuned up last season for a spare and rode it once. Now it just collects dust, along with the rest of my fitness equipment, while I slowly slack my way into 38" inseams.![]()
Looks sharp! I'll try to make it by tonight or tomorrow, depending how things unfold. I think it's safe to say I'll take it, if it won't work for my project I can just pass it on to the Squirrel at the next event weekend, rather than have him drive up from Boston to get it. I'll PM you to work out the details. I appreciate it!
