Speaking of online selling shitshows:
I have a friend looking to unload his 2006 GSXR600 with 20,000+ miles. But there's a rub...
He bought it new. A couple years into the loan, he missed a couple of payments. Once he got notice that they were calling in the loan, he sent them the payments he owed plus the next payment. Too little, too late - the wheels were already in motion. During the threats of repo, he got himself a lawyer. No good said the finance company, they were going to come get it. Funny thing is, they never did anything to collect the bike. He registered & insured it and rode it up until about 5 or 6 years ago. From that point, it sat in his garage collecting dust. He never hid it or did anything to avoid the repo, he just kept registering it and riding it. Nothing even showed up on his credit report, not even the original loan itself.
Bottom line is, it has no title. I suggested he just pay the $25.00 for the title application and see where it goes from there. But he doesn't want to open a can of worms as he's making plans to buy a house. The title search begins & ends there.
