My buddy at work just had his bicycle stolen out of his house (a $2k dually he bought 6 years ago and has logged THOUSANDS of miles on, it was his baby). Needless to say he doesn't have the money to get anything right now, and is in need of some sort of reliable bicycle.
Does anyone have anything? It doesn't have to be pretty, just in good working order (or in need of a tuneup).
Thanks NESRians!
Edit: he rides hard, and on bad pavement, so preferably no skinny tires.

What can he afford?
I'll get back to you on the budget. Let me know what you have regardless, he may be able to flex a bit.
If he wants to come down to my shop, Tri-Town Cycling in Wareham, ma. I can give him a good deal on a leftover 08, might not be anything expensive or fancy, but cheap money. Everybody on nesr gets at least 10% off!

Thanks for the replies so far guys. I guess he wants to go to a hard tail (cheaper to maintain, and better for city commuting).
I don't know exactly how cheap you wanna go but id sell my old commuter bike. Its a green 70s Sears Free spirit road bike(rebadged Puch). New seat, chain, pedals, reflectors. I road it every day to work for past year or so. I'd sell it to him for $75. It has thinner road rims though, 26x 1 3/8 tires.

Keep em coming folks. I'll show him the thread on Monday.
I'm not trying to threadjack, but does anyone have a 26" (wheel) mountain bike for sale, for cheap?
and by cheap I mean $25
I have a Trek 4500 in good shape, all it needs is new grips and I'll give it to you for 20 bucks if you come and get it. I need to get it out of my garage. A tune up and this bike would probably be like new. PM me if your interested.
